About First Class Dry Cleaners

Prior to purchasing this buisness in 1996, the Proprietor, Derek Brennan had 22 years experience as a tailor.

Having trained for 3 years in various tailoring outlets around the city. Derek ran his own Clothes Alterations business in Abbey Street and Ann Street. Derek also ran the tailoring section for Craft Dry Cleaners in Baggot Street. During these years Derek provided an exclusive tailoring service to several of the top Clothing Shops in the city.

First Class Dry Cleaners was established as an alteration shop in 1994. The premises  initially known as “Fairview Alterations”, were run and owned by mother and daughter for the first two years. Derek was honored to have to opportunity to purchase the business in 1996.

The business was quickly established as a centre of excellence for clothing alterations and to Derek's delight and gratitude, his customer base increased year on year.

Building on the initial success and customer feedback, the business was completely renovated  in 2006 and expanded to include a Dry Cleaning and Laundry Service therefore providing customers one place where all their alteration and dry cleaning requirements could be completed (on the same day if required).

The same standards of excellence that were applied to the Alterations part of the business were also applied to the Dry Cleaning buisness which has resulted in an increased number of happy customers.

In recent years, having seen so many other businesses unfortunately not survive the recession, Derek and his team are grateful to all their customers for the continued success and endeavor to always provide the best service to them at the best prices.
